The Collaborative Research Laboratory on Obesity and Active Living (CoActiv'Lab), directed by Professor Aurélie Baillot, is located at the Université du Québec en Outaouais in Gatineau.

Its main goal is to collaboratively develop adapted physical activity interventions that are effective in the long term to improve and maintain the health of adults living with obesity, whether or not they are managed surgically.

Most of the laboratory's projects follow a collaborative research approach, that is, an approach involving several partners (patients, clinicians, researchers, managers) in order to jointly tackle a problem and find solutions.

The main research activities of the laboratory carried out with adults living with obesity, whether or not they are managed by surgery, aim to:
1) Identify the biopsychosocial determinants of regular physical activity;
2) Assess the biopsychosocial and behavioural effects of exertion (acute exercise) and regular physical activity;
3) Analyze the biopsychosocial and behavioural impact of weight-related stigma during physical activity.
